I am in the process of redoing my living room/kitchen space.
I have ripped out all the former carpet in addition to tile. I have hardwood floors being put down in place, and the kitchen is getting current cupboards in addition to countertops. I honestly thought it was worth spending more on a current living room couch also. I splurged to get a custom couch built that fits my living room perfectly. It is the right size for my height to sit and relax. The couch no longer sticks out in addition to cuts the section either. Even with it fitting the section though, I don’t really have the room for a kitchen table at all! My living room and kitchen connect, but with all my cabinets and couch in the room, there isn’t a ton of square footage remaining. I am really sick of standing at my counters and having to eat there. I also don’t like that when I have people over in my home I need to eat outside. I had a brain blast the other day though. I decided to reach out to the custom couch guy again and asked if he could help me with my drawback. The guy came into my property and took a few measurements. He has a great idea for a kitchen table that can fold into pieces and be stored against my wall. I can open it up to be a small table for myself, or fold out sections so I can have people over. The kitchen table doesn’t need to be huge always or even open for the rest of the day. I can’t wait to see what the custom kitchen table looks like when it’s installed in my kitchen.
