It’s me or the pet

We never want to be the type of people who force other humans into action.

We understand that everybody is autonomous plus they should make their own decisions. With that being said, there are times when it is necessary to provide people gentle or powerful pushes in the right direction. Unluckily, it seems to be reaching this point with our roommate when it comes to his recent purchase of a massive dog. Don’t get us wrong, we love dogs. However, an ultimatum is coming our roommates’ way. It’s going to be us or the dog staying in this apartment. Whenever he went out to adopt the dog, we were careful to remind him that we both had horrific air quality sensitivities. If he was going to adopt a large, dirty critter, then we were going to suffer from indoor dust irritations. We can barely breathe when we’re under the same roof as a cat, let alone a dog that sheds. The pet hair plus dander effectively irritates our lungs plus mucous membranes to the point where we can’t breathe or see straight. That’s when we begin having to dose ourselves with over-the-counter prescription medications. Soon, we are so preoccupied with the indoor air pollutants that we can’t even sleep at night. We warned him about all of these allergy issues plus air quality issues we have, however that didn’t stop him from going out plus adopting a dog that sheds. Now, we can’t breathe in our own apartment plus the dog pollutes our indoor air with his pet dander that follows him around. At this point, our air purification equipment can’t handle the air quality issues. We don’t care to tell him, however it’s going to be us or this shedding dog.
