New house, new furniture, new equipment.
- That is all I could think of as I made my way back to my state.
After groundbreaking to lay the foundation, the construction was completed in my absence. I was keen to see in person how the finishing and the air conditioning installation was done. My dad had to oversee everything but he understood little of what was going on. When I lay the foundation of the house, I ensured an HVAC contractor was on-site to measure the floor plan and assess the total number of HVAC equipment needed. However, I made adjustments to the floor plan to add an extra room and this was never covered when the ductwork was done. Plus, I never shared the same with the HVAC business laying the ductwork. I am to blame for the mistake because when I eventually stayed in the house, I realized the radiant heater was overwhelmed by the size of the house. The cooling system was sufficient but many times I had to carry my portable space heater around. Eventually, I called in an a/c workman to assess the air quality systems and recommend possible changes. He concluded that, if I need quality heating, I need to get quality HVAC that can sustain the demands of my house. So I arranged to switch the air conditioning for a new HVAC within a month of staying in the house. It wasn’t a big deal since I was still under warranty. I also took the premium package for the air conditioning service plan to cover repairs and HVAC service that matches my high seer ratings.
