Occasionally, I become irrationally frustrated with other people, especially if they are directly affecting my life.
I don’t assume why I get so bothered by their activities and opinions, but I must get this from my dad.
He’s always frustrated with someone. However, I’m doing all I can to calm down and stop stressing about the discrepancies between how people act and the words they say. I find that hypocrisy is one of my largest triggers for human hatred! Recently, this has been greatly impacting my life, though. When I moved into an apartment with a roommate, I thought we were on the same page about caring for the environment, energy efficiency, and reducing our carbon footprints. The two of us work for non-profit environmental agencies aimed at protecting our worldwide weather conditions and improving our public air pollution. However, she doesn’t care about air quality at all. In fact, she’s rather flakey when it comes to ruining our indoor air pollen levels in the apartment, and she relies on the central heating and cooling system to cover up her mistakes. Every afternoon, she decreases the temperature control one way or another because she carelessly left a window open or left the oven on for way too long. My roommate requires the HVAC system to make up for her thoughtlessness. In effect, this only raises our energy expenditure and contributes to unwelcome weather condition change. I thought we both did our part to protect the world, but apparently my roommate is more worried about her indoor temperature control.
