I hate the time changes that we go through in the spring and fall.
I was suddenly being thrust into darkness at only five in the afternoon. It was now getting daylight at six in the morning instead of seven. My sleep schedule was all messed up. My day schedule seemed to be way too short. I had an HVAC service scheduled for nine in the morning two days after daylight savings time ended and standard time began. I worried that they hadn’t fixed their clocks and the HVAC technician wouldn’t show. I still have to go to work as soon as the furnace is serviced and I can feel safe again. I told my boss I would only be about two hours late. I was completely dressed and ready to leave as soon as the HVAC technician was done. Nine o’clock came and went and I was upset. I sat there for a full hour and I called the HVAC company. I was irate as I told the woman on the phone that I had to go to work and I wanted to know why their technician wasn’t here yet? She took my name and phone number and asked me to wait a moment. She was soon back on the line and she told me my appointment wasn’t until nine. I already knew that. I had clearly written the time down when I made the appointment. I could hear the chuckle in her voice when she asked me if I had reset my clocks? I had and I knew it. Then it hit me that I had, but I had turned them all ahead instead of back. It was only seven and not night.
